Installing and running Free Pascal on FreeDOS.
Beside the old MS-DOS development software, there are also actual programming environments, that may be used on FreeDOS. Year-2022 software to create programs for DOS! The most interesting from my point of view is the Free Pascal compiler for the go32v2 DOS Extender, including a Turbo Pascal similar IDE (called FP ID) and a debugger. You can find a detailed description of the installation of FPC 3.2.2 on FreeDOS in the Lazarus/Free Pascal Programming section of my site. Note, that there also are Free Pascal cross-compilers for DOS. This allows you to create 16 bit DOS programs, as described in my tutorial Installing the Free Pascal DOS cross-compiler on Linux.
